I’ve noticed things have changed so much. People used to appreciate the ‘female form’, skinny girls and curvy girls were ‘in’ if they had boobs and hips and everything classed as ‘feminine’. Then, all of a sudden, it became a sport to critique on other people’s bodies. Magazine’s made money by pointing out that Britney Spears looked fatter in a bikini than she did last year, or Katie Holmes had lost TOO much weight and looked withered. They did this in a bid to make the individual reading it feel marginally better about their own bodies or, worse and therefore buy into the lie that a woman’s body deserves to have every inch scrutinised by strangers. Only recently though, there’s been a rise in the ‘I hate my OWN body’ craze. The media don’t need to report on other people because we’re all so self absorbed that all we see is ours. We’ve all given into this lie. Comparisons are being made all the time and it’s just not fair because your body is your body and it’s never going to be the same as her body.
This doesn’t even make sense but you know, nights are there for thinking
